Donald’s Photographic Path
Donald’s interest in photography began in high school, when a part-time job with the City of Union City introduced him to writing press releases, documenting community events, and creating multimedia presentations. His work quickly gained attention and led to a formative mentorship with Harold Bardes, a prominent commercial photographer and past president of the Professional Photographers Association. Through college and graduate school, photography followed him into wedding work, photojournalism, and even political campaigns including former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley’s first Senate run in 1978.
Today, Donald’s camera is a creative outlet. He is drawn to fine art photography, street photography, and urban landscapes, capturing the character of cities and the quiet moments within them. His images reflect the same curiosity and perspective that shape his work as a writer and collector.
