France’s Notre-Dame de Paris coin (KM#3462) was named Most Innovative in the Coin of the Year (COTY) awards for 2024-dated coins. The 25 EURO coin features a microchip which, when scanned from a mobile phone, enables the owner to receive a digital certificate of ownership.
The obverse depicts the rebuilding of the Notre-Dame cathedral. The intersecting lines around the front of the cathedral symbolize the presence of scaffolding, on which the text “Rebatir Notre Dame” rests.
The reverse honors the men and women who worked on the Notre Dame construction site. Illustrations by artist Arthur Bonifay highlight the craftsmen and women who helped rebuild the Gothic cathedral.

The winning silver proof coin measures 41 mm in diameter, has a plain edge, and weighs 62.2 grams. Mintage is limited to 2,024.
