This commemorative gold coin was issued by the United States Mint in 2014 to honor the 75th anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. The coin features a distinctive curved, concave–convex shape that enhances its sculptural design. One side depicts a detailed baseball glove, while the reverse shows a baseball with stitched seams and inscriptions including “Five Dollars” and “E Pluribus Unum.” Struck in fine gold, the coin celebrates baseball as a central part of American cultural history and represents one of the most innovative designs ever produced by the U.S. Mint.
